Symbnet Summer School

Every year, Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência and SymbNET organise a summer school targeted at PhD students from different cultures and research backgrounds. Its extensive programme includes lectures, research seminars, and developing a short research project.

In 2023, the panel focussed on symbiosis between microorganisms and species from different ecosystems.

The identity shows different species interacting with each other, including microorganisms — the main subject of study of the event. Elements are layered and intertwined, allowing to interpret the ecosystem as a whole, as a group of interdependent species.
